Lexile Framework for Reading--Many schools use the Lexile framework to help guide students' book choice. Use this site to help match texts with students' reading ability, so they don't get frustrated or bored.
Accelerated Reader--If your students or kids in your area are required to read books for the Accelerated Reader (AR) Program, you can help them find out how many points each book they read is worth with this website.
HarperCollins Children's Common Core Resources--Detailed resources and lesson plans that are aligned with Common Core standards (and they tell you which ones are used!) for a plethora of children's books from Kindergarten-12th grade. Sure, they might all be from HarperCollins, but it's still an awesome resource!
AASL 21st Century Student Learner Lesson Plans--Archived library lesson plans divided by type of school: elementary, middle, or high school. SPECIAL NOTE: This database also includes a LESSON PLAN TEMPLATE.

Smithsonian Education--This might be the best site I've used to help me with lesson planning ideas. You can search plans by grade, subject, or keyword, and it will also provide you with lessons that are aligned to your states' standards And, just the name SMITHSONIAN, evokes a sense of trust in the quality of items available. Please check this one out when you have a chance.
Discovery Education--Sources are divided up by grade and then subject area. Lesson plans and worksheets are also available. The site is very big, with a wealth of information, so explore it a little bit at a time and find out all of the great FREE resources it has for you!
