Greetings & Salutations...
My name is Amanda, and you might know me from my flagship library site, Adventures in Library Land. It's super fun to keep track of my daily shenanigans in the library: fun displays I create, bulletin boards I slap together, programming I help run, etc. The more I've been working and thinking and researching, though, I've decided that I need a place to keep track of all of the professional resources I find in my searches and schooling. A lot of those who read my posts on Adventures are supportive family, friends, and book nerd buddies, who are [slightly] interested and curious about my new job.
Library Land Resources is Adventures in Library Land's first ever supplemental website. I'll be keeping track of and briefly annotating (describing) professional resources that could help others or myself in our careers as youth or school librarians. (School librarianship is my focus, but this also bleeds into youth librarianship for public libraries. I'm sorry but I'll rarely have anything for academic or adult librarians.) Up to this point, I've kept random bookmarks of these resources on my laptop or home PC, and this is not as organized as I'd like...and I can't share it with others who might find some use from my finds!
I'm looking forward to this supplement for my Adventures blog, and don't worry: I'll still be writing about my adventures in the Uni High Library and any other library where I have the fortune of finding myself. I hope you continue the adventure of becoming a school librarian with me, this time as I gather important things I can do "stuff" with. My goal is to add to this Resource Guide as I find more useful library sites, videos, books, etc. Go to the CONTACT page if you want to share a great source with me, and I'll post it!
